The Launching of “USM-NUT GIGAKU Techno Park” at Toray-USM Centre

Toray congratulates Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) for the successful strategic collaboration over the 12 years ago, which escalated to a new phase with the formation of “GIGAKU” (Science of Technology) Techno Park Office in Penang. This network will now allow more collaborations like joint double degree program, joint seminar, academic staff exchange, student internship, international research projects to be carried out. Located within the Toray-USM Knowledge Transfer Centre, the Opening Ceremony of USM-NUT GIGAKU Techno Park Office was held on the 1st March 2016, in the presence of NUT President Dr. N. Azuma, USM VC Prof. Dato’ Omar Osman and Consul-General of Japan to Penang, Mr. R. Noda. Representing Toray to deliver a speech at the ceremony was Mr. H. Yoshimura, the MD of Toray Industries (Malaysia), Sdn. Berhad. Mr. Yoshimura commented that Toray is delighted that USM-NUT GIGAKU Techno Park Office is sited within the Toray-USM Knowledge Transfer Centre, which will further help to develop the young generation of our two countries, Malaysia and Japan.
