Toray Contributes RM300 Thousand Towards Science & Technology Learning at Tech-Dome Penang
Sound knowledge and mastery in Science & Technology are vital to transform Malaysia into a high-income economy, an international and intelligent nation. With this in mind, the Penang State government recently initiated a RM25.0 million Tech-Dome Penang Project, specifically for young generation to cultivate curiosity and passion in science learning through fun-filled, hands-on experiences.
To be located at the Geodesic Dome of Komtar, Tech-Dome Penang will be a science discovery centre that showcases the wonder of science and technology. Complemented with educational programmes, workshops, exhibitions and science camps for children of various age groups, the centre aims to inspire children in science and technology learning, to become future technologists.
As a strong proponent of science, technology & innovation and a firm believer in education and human resource development for nation building, Toray is pleased to be one of the Founding Sponsors of this futuristic project. Recently on May 20, 2015, a cheque presentation ceremony was held whereby MD of Toray Industries (Malaysia) Hiroshi Yoshimura handed over Toray’s RM300 Thousand contribution to the Penang Chief Minister, YAB Tuan Lim Guan Eng.
Toray is hopeful that this CSR initiative will inspire and develop a tech-savvy and knowledgeable generation to come, in line with its corporate philosophy, “Contributing to society through the creation of new value with innovative ideas, technologies and products”.
