Visitation of Mr. Ryuji Noda, Consul-General of Japan in Penang to Penfibre, Toray Group (Malaysia)

Recently, Toray Group (Malaysia) welcomed Mr. Ryuji Noda, the Consul-General of Japan in Penang to a plant tour of Penfibre Film Division on the 5th September 2014. The visitation was a follow-up program to the Opening Ceremony of the Metalized Film Facilitries which Mr. Noda officiated on the 28th May 2014. On hand to receive our distinguished guest were Penfibre’s Managing Director Mr. Kurokawa and other Executive Directors of the Company. Following a brief introduction on the overall operation of the Film Division, Mr. Noda was guided to a tour of the Metalized Film Facility. The new RM37.0 million state-of-the-art metalized film plant, completed in April 2014 is capable of producing 375 tons of high value-added metalized polyester (PET) packaging films per month. The superior and high performance metalized films produced at Penfibre are engineered to meet the stringent requirements of its customers, in both Japan and South East Asian regions which has a massive consumer population of exceeding 600 million and annual growth rates of 3% to 5% Mr. Noda was truly impressed with the tour of Penfibre which produces advanced and high value-added products locally. It syncs with the Malaysian Government’s efforts to move up the value-chain manufacturing in Malaysia.
