- 20th Prize Presentation Ceremony 

Malaysia Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) organized its 20th Prize Presentation Ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on the 28 November 2013, where a total of 32 recipients received the three prestigious awards and grants totalling RM408,000. Held in conjunction with the 20th Anniversary of MTSF, the Award Ceremony was officiated by the new Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation YB Datuk Dr. Ewon Ebin, in the presence of the Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, HE Mr. S. Nakamura, the Chairman of MTSF, YBhg Tan Sri Dr.Omar Abdul Rahman and the Senior Advisor of Toray Japan Mr. S. Koizumi. During the Ministerial address, Datuk Dr. Ewon extended his thanks and appreciation to Toray Japan and its Malaysian subsidiary Toray Group [Malaysia](TGM) for this CSR initiative, with the noble objective of promoting science and technology in Malaysia.The Government of Malaysia is thankful thatMTSF has cumulatively expended RM8.203 million in awards and grantsover the last 2 decades, which have benefitted some 40 Malaysian scientists, 219 young researchers and 324 secondary school science educators. Modelled after Toray Science Foundation (TSF) which was founded in Japan in 1960, MTSF was established in 1993 through a RM 4 million initial endowment from Toray Japan. With yearly contributions from TSF and TGM, MTSF carries out three annual awardsand grant, namely Science & Technology Award, Science & Technology Research Grant and Science Education Award. For the coming 2014 MTSF program, Malaysian scientists, researchers and science educators are encouraged to apply. Application opens in January 2014 and will close on 31 May 2014.
