TGM - Internship Program
"Internship Program" provides undergraduates the rare opportunity to experience real life working environments. Besides developing skills and applying classroom theories to practical work situations, the short-term training help students to work on their future study needs and specific areas of focus.
At Toray Group (Malaysia) [TGM], internship programs are specifically welcomed as we could better assess future talents and capabilities, as a prelude to the Group’s’ recruitment drive. Besides fulfilling our CSR initiative of developing the nation’s workforce, mutual understanding and cooperation between industry and university will help us to draw fresh perspectives and ideas into our future workforce.
Each year, TGM takes in some 40-50 interns from various fields and disciplines. From June to August 2014 alone, TGM welcomed a total of 23 students at the various manufacturing plants. Starting this year, a new comprehensive "TGM Internship Program" covering Toray’s philosophy, management and its business operations has been drawn up for the trainees.
At the conclusion of each internship program, presentation sessions are organized whereby the trainees are invited to share their experience and knowledge gained at Toray. A "Certificate of Completion" is then presented to every successful trainee. To enhance future programs, evaluation forms are circulated for trainees’ feedback.
