Toray Plastics (Malaysia) Sdn. Berhad
Students from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) visits Toray Plastics (Malaysia)
At Toray, we strongly believe that human capital is the best asset. In support of Malaysia’s aspiration to further develop its human resources, Toray recently hosted twenty-seven undergraduates and two lecturers from University Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to an educational visit at Toray Plastics (Malaysia). The half-day visit, conducted on 6th November 2015, is aimed at exposing the petrochemical engineering students to the real working life environment in the chemical industry, particularly in plastic resins manufacturing.
During this industrial visit, the students were briefed on the various aspects of factory operations, including safety & environment concern, R&D functions of the Technology Centre and the polymerization & production processes of Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin. During the Q&A session, the enthusiastic students raised many questions which were all satisfactorily answered by the factory personnel in attendance.
The educational tour has certainly impressed upon the UTAR visitors who found the visit educational and fruitful. Hopefully, the experiences and knowledge gained will help the students in their course study and future career development.
