Toray Launches Torayvino Branch as Japan’s First Water Purification System Usable with Your Choice of Faucet

Tokyo, Japan, May 26, 2021 – Toray Industries, Inc., will start selling the Torayvino® Branch household water purifier exclusively in Japan today. The company debuted the Torayvino brand in 1986 when it brought out a countertop water purifier employing hollow fiber membrane filters. The Torayvino Branch is Japan’s first water purification system to allow switching between tap and purified water by simply lifting a faucet lever. To date, consumers have faced limitations in choosing faucets for under-sink water purifiers or faucets with built-in purifiers. They can install the Torayvino Branch under sinks to work with innumerable faucet designs, features, and brands. They can use their existing faucets or foreign-branded ones. Since the Torayvino Branch is installed under the sink, it does not spoil the design of the entire kitchen. This product adopts the SKC88.X cartridge, whose water purification capacity, cost, and size match most contemporary lifestyle needs. While compact, this cartridge is an industry leader. It can remove 17 impurities of JIS, has a fast flow rate, and can purify 4,000 liters of water. It is priced at ¥9,130, including tax. It is designed for annual replacement, for a monthly running cost of about ¥700.

Torayvino® Branch (Model number: SK88X-BR)
(1)Easy switching
You can switch between tap and purified water just by turning the faucet lever to the water side (note 1) and using the faucet as follows. Turn tap on, then off, then on (note 2).

Notes
1. Only purifies cold water.
2. Turn tap off, then on within 3.0 seconds.
(2) Audio notification of water purification and replacement times
This easily recognizable notification tells you when to change the water purification mode or when to replace the cartridge or battery. You can also adjust the volume or switch notification off.
(3) Use with a favorite faucet
You can install this purifier with an array of faucets, including convenient touch-and-sensor and foreign-branded ones.
(4) Uses conveniently compact and highly functional SKC88.X cartridge
The Torayvino Branch uses the SKC88.X cartridge, which is engineered to provide 4,000 liters of filtered water annually, or about 10 liters daily. This is ample enough for an average a household of four consuming around 7.2 liters per day. Toray enhanced purification by combining the high removal performance of granular activated carbon and an ion exchanger with a medical grade multi-layered hollow fiber filter.
