Professional Institute of International Fashion Offers Special Class on Ultrasuede®

On October 18, the Professional Institute of International Fashion (campuses in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya; President Seiichi Kondo) offered a special class that introduced the global brand strategy for Ultrasuede®. This special class came into being due to the Institute’s high evaluation of Ultrasuede® as a Japan-originating material brand that has seen global acceptance and is also a sustainable material. The class introduced the latest developments in sustainable materials and how they could interface with leading brands in the worlds of fashion, automobiles, and other fields in many countries around the world. Other topics covered included the support provided for students and young designers. This special class encouraged students of the Institute to deepen their understanding of Ultrasuede® products and the sustainability-oriented concept, helping to promote international research into the fashion business. Established in April 2019, the Professional Institute of International Fashion is the sole fashion profession-specialized university in Japan (as of March 31, 2021). Focusing on fashion and related business, the Institute enables students to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in their chosen profession. Through partnerships with global top brands and companies, as well as textile production areas in Japan, the Institute is actively committed to providing special classes with lecturer and specialists from different fields as well as providing students with the opportunity of training sessions and internships in domestic companies as well as those abroad. Ultrasuede® keeps evolving toward a future full of “Beautiful Possibilities.”
